Ontario Premier Doug Ford called up the president of Pfizer Canada on Tuesday afternoon just hours after expressing his frustration with Canadas lack of vaccines.
The Trudeau government announced Tuesday that rather than just experience a reduction of 50% in Pfizer shipments there would be no vaccines at all next week.
Ford expressed frustration at the situation saying that if he were prime minister, hed be relentless in contacting Pfizer.
Id be up that guys ying-yang so far with a firecracker he wouldnt know what hit him, Ford said.
Shortly after those comments, Ford called Pfizer Canada President Cole Pinnow to discuss the situation.
He reiterated the serious impact these cancelled shipments will have on Ontario and sought answers as to why Canada isnt receiving vaccines as quickly as other countries, Fords office said in a statement.
The premier will continue to do whatever he can to support the federal government in ensuring that Ontario gets the supply we need as we continue to build capacity and vaccinate as many Ontarians as quickly as humanly possible.
