Is it the X Prologue or something else?.
Toyota will use the Shanghai Motor Show to preview its mid-sized electric crossover.
The company was coy on specifics, but that seems to suggest the company will introduce a concept at the event which kicks off on April 19th.
Originally teased last year, the model will ride on the new e-TNGA platform which is highly versatile and can be used on vehicles with varying lengths, widths, wheelbases and heights. The architecture can also support front-, rear- and all-wheel drive setups as well as a wide-range of battery and electric motor capacities. The company has also said the platform will enable them to create vehicles that are not just battery-electric, but also exciting to drive and beautiful to look at.

Toyota has previously said the model will be about the same size as the RAV4 and its possible the vehicle is the X Prologue. That remains unconfirmed, but there are some vague similarities between todays teaser image and the picture of the X Prologue. Of course, its hard to be certain as the latest teaser simply shows a crossover under a sheet and Toyota is working on at least six different EVs.
Regardless, the X Prologue will be introduced on March 17th at 4:00 a.m. ET (10:00 a.m. CET). Thats nearly a month before the Shanghai Motor Show, but its not usual to see vehicles introduced before their auto show debut.
