President Cyril Ramaphosa is facing renewed pressure over his alleged role in Eskom’s affairs as he prepares to testify before the Zondo commission.

While previous attacks have come from former Eskom executives deeply implicated in state capture, as well as his own detractors within the ANC, the new onslaught is coming from the trade unions and the United Democratic Movement (UDM), which allege that state capture is returning in another guise under his tenure.
