Melissa Elizabeth Steele led a transient lifestyle and was known to frequent downtown Vancouver.

The female found dead near Highway 1 between Hope and Yale has been identified as a 19-year-old.
A passing motorist spotted a body off the highway on May 26. When Mounties came to investigate, they found the body of a young woman and suspected foul play.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team was called in.
On Friday, IHIT identified the woman as Melissa Elizabeth Steele. The 19-year-old led a transient lifestyle, and was known to frequent downtown Vancouver.
An autopsy is scheduled next week.
Investigators are working on a timeline of Steeles activities prior to her death, and are specifically looking for dash cam video from anyone who was travelling between Boston Bar and Hope on May 25 and 26.
