UAEs ace striker Ali Mabhkout and creative playmaker Fabio Lima were the heroes as they scored a double each. Mabhkout scored in the 18th and 90th minute, while Fabio scored in the 83rd and 95th minute.
In another Group G game, Thailand were held 2-2 by Indonesia. Malaysia have dropped to fourth in the standings with nine points, while UAE, with a game in hand, jump to second, also with nine points but with better goal difference.
Vietnam remained top with 11 points, while Thailand are third, also with nine points and a better goal difference compared to Malaysia. Indonesia remain rooted but bagged their first point of the qualifying campaign.
